There are three types of flight\nA honeybee takes in her lifetime\nThey are:\nThe orientation flight,\nThe scouting flight and\u00a0\nThe foraging flight.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
There are useful analogies between\nThe honeybee flights\nAnd the journeys a young person\nTakes when leaving home\nFor the first time. For each flight\nIs different, you see.\u00a0<\/strong><\/pre>\n\n\n\n
The orientation flight is designed\nTo learn how to get back home.\nThere is no point in going out\nOf the nest and lose your way back.\nSo the orientation flight refines\nYour homing insinct<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
The foraging flight is a well-worn path\nWhich many other bees have flown.\nThe knowledge is passed on by a ritual\nCalled the \"waggle dance\".\nThe more vigorous the dance,\nThe greater the source of food.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
The riskiest flight is the scouting flight.\nThis is a leap into the unknown\nThere are no maps. No tribal knowledge.\nNo leaders to follow. Just instinct.\nMany scouting flights do not bear fruit\nAnd many scouts die on the wing.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
As humans, we all have an innate\nPioneering spirit of adventure.\nA call to explore the unknown.\nWhich would you rather bee?\nA newbee, a forager or a scout?\nI know which one I'd rather bee!<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
